Challenge
Healthcare practices deal with a complex mix of insurance billing, patient copays, and out-of-pocket payments. Before embedding payments with Stax Connect, ChiroSpring’s customers relied on disconnected payment tools that sat outside the platform—creating reconciliation headaches, fragmented reporting, and a disjointed experience for front-desk staff and patients alike.
ChiroSpring needed an embedded payments partner that could handle the full range of in-office payment scenarios (i.e., tap, dip, swipe, cards on file, payment links, recurring payments, refunds) while also delivering the operational support and reliability their practices depend on.

The Stax Connect integration
ChiroSpring Pay, powered by Stax Connect, gives practices a full embedded payments experience directly inside the platform they already use every day:
- Accept payments via tap, dip, or swipe at the point of care
- Securely store cards on file for returning patients
- Manual card entry for phone or remote payments
- Scheduled and recurring payment plans
- Full and partial refunds processed in-platform
- Payment links sent directly to patients, with payments flowing automatically into ChiroSpring
The integration also supports surcharging, allowing practices to pass along a 3% fee on credit card transactions, a feature that launched in late 2025 and has seen rapid adoption.
Highlights
Since launching surcharging at the end of 2025, ChiroSpring has onboarded 68 surcharging merchants, reducing their effective cost of payment acceptance. Moreover, 44 new ChiroSpring Pay clients have been added since the start of 2026, showcasing a strong adoption of embedded payments.
The embedded integration has also become a competitive differentiator for ChiroSpring in its market. Practices cite the ease of use and the depth of payment detail made possible by the direct integration as key reasons for choosing, and staying on, the ChiroSpring platform.
